I’m on a roll!
On 12.31.13 I received two purchase orders for 8 of my The Puppy Baby Book from Baker & Taylor. Then I received an email from the Managing Editor of AudioFile Magazine that they were going to review the audio book of Hot Chocolate. I’m not finished yet. When I say I’m on a roll… I mean the ball is rolling!
I was contacted by Victoria Brooks, Curator, Time Based Visual Art The Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute regarding my Aunt Ora Daigle Nichols, the first woman sound engineer. Victoria is beginning a “long-term research project on female artists and innovators in the fields of sound and the moving image in the first half of the twentieth century, especially those rather left out of the scholarly canon”. You can see a photo of my Aunt on my website here: http://www.dawnireland-writer.com/Aunt-Ora.html
Then I was contacted by the Bellaire Library (Bellaire, TX – suburb within the boundaries of Houston), to give a talk on writing/publishing on January 11th. If anyone is close by, come on in. Not to be outdone, a private writing group contacted me to speak at their Saturday meeting (January 4).
Great way to close the year!
Now, for the start of 2014… I just received a purchase order from Amazon Advantage for 12 of the Puppy Baby Book!
Great way to start a year!
