I met Anna Marie and Cicely, two incredible editors, on Saturday at Narin’s Bombay Brasserie in Houston, one of my favorite restaurants, and handed over a hefty envelope to each of them. Bitter Chocolate is a total of 401 pages (104,770 words), plus 11 pages of recipes. I feel ten pounds lighter and probably look at least five years younger.
Anna Marie is the grammar queen, hands down. She can hold lengthy conversations with writers and will lead them out of the dark on their confusion with sentence structure, grammar, and anything else you can think of.
Cicely, bonks me with her red pen often for my comma’s and apostrophe’s — I can’t help it — I must have been sleeping in class that day.
If any of you require an editor for your book, articles, term papers, etc., send me a note and I’ll make the connection for you.
Now I have time to clean my desk, work on taxes and take care of other business… until the edits come in.
